Know before you go

Everything you need to know to prepare for this bootcamp

What do you need?

Please bring your own laptop with the following tools installed.*

Access to Google Drive

We’ll explore an AEM website that uses Google Docs as a content source. In order to participate in the interactive parts, you will need access to a laptop that is allowed to connect with Google Drive. Furthermore, you will need to have a personal Google account.

Access to Google Chrome

Edge Delivery Services uses a browser plugin to manage content for your website. This is done through a plugin that is available for select browsers. In the bootcamp, you will need access to Google Chrome, including permissions to install the AEM Sidekick.

Download Google Chrome

Install the AEM Sidekick

Access to GitHub

Since we’ll dive into the code to develop for Edge Delivery Services, you will need to set up your own GIT repository. For this, you’ll need a personal GitHub account.

Access to AEM as a Cloud Service

During the bootcamp, we’ll discover both document-based and WYSIWYG authoring. For the latter, you’ll need access to an AEM as a Cloud Service sandbox.

Check you have access

* Each partner can have only one sandbox. Please check if one is already provisioned and request access internally.

Access to an editor

As we’ll be coding, you’ll need access to your favorite code editor. We’ll use Visual Studio Code, but any editor is fine.

Download VS Code

Access to the AEM Discord

Our Solution Consultants are happy to help you during the bootcamp, but sometimes we might need an engineer’s help. They will be available to help in a dedicated discord channel.
